Due to unforeseen circumstances, there was a gap in roles, which I was asked to fill on an interim basis. During this time, I art directed all incoming projects to the appropriate designers and freelancers, managed all projects, handled our vendor relationships and invoices, and kept the strategic voice of our department a vital player in the wider university’s decision-making processes.

October 2013 – October 2015 Deerfield, IL

Led client meetings, collaborated on concepts, presented designs and worked towards solutions. Developed designs for campaigns, one-time events, and weekly communication needs. Worked with Design Director to develop better workflow processes within our department and continually worked for better processes with university clients. Managed student intern and mentored design students from the college.

Worked across various product lines; created new greeting card designs and refreshed older designs; created a cohesive collection of images for a Sales Team website; designed signage with the Visual Merchandising team for their national accounts (Kohls, mainline grocery stores, etc.); implemented direction from art directors; collaborated with other designers and team members to create strong visual product solutions.

Hired by various companies to fulfill design needs; clients included Just Facts, Trinity International University, The Center for Bioethics & Human Dignity, Quality Greenhouses, Workplace Solutions, Write Alongside, Tribune Creative Group East, and Performance Lyseum; projects included creating identities, web graphics, annual reports, magazines, conference concept and all collateral pieces, photo retouching.
